 2006 PPT VISION Global Partners Conference

 IMPACT Software 7.0 Production Release
 

VPM Summary Table IMPACT Software Version 7.0.0 was officially released on April 27th, 2006. This release introduces the ease-of-use software initiative currently underway here PPT VISION to improve the usability of the software. In addition to a new look and feel within the Vision Program Manager (VPM) Program, users will now find an integrated version of the Utilities program within VPM. This enhancement allows users to switch easily between the VPM and Utilities panes without having to ensure the correct locked state of VPM. In addition, the task tree in VPM now includes a Summary Table, which is a tabular report of the results data of all tools that ran within that task. Several trigger buttons are now also available above the summary table, which allows users to sequence through images to quickly test their programs without the need to switch to the Utilities pane.  FDA 21 CFR Part 11 Compliance
 

When working with customers in the medical industry, we often run into a situation where a compliance requirement is needed to fulfill FDA 21 CFR Part 11. While IMPACT software does provide multiple communication tools to comply with this requirement, the process of making sure the necessary measures are taken for this FDA compliance can be complicated and confusing. Therefore, PPT VISION has put together a compliance guide to assist our partners in this compliance. The 7-page document includes detailed information on the overall compliance process, as well as those internal IMPACT software features that support this compliance.  Application Corner
 Needle Inspection

Needle Panel In this issue's Application Corner, we are featuring a needle inspection application where a PPT9200 (1600X1200 pixels) high resolution camera is used to measure the needle length and insertion depth. This application requires a 15-micron repeatability, with 100+ product types ranging from 25mm to 125mm in length. Up to 9 images along the length of the needle were taken and stitched together before the final measurement is taken. The flexibility and power available in the IMPACT software allow us to use the necessary logic configuration to implement an effective part recipe management scheme to help with part change over. This application is sold to a global medical company named B. Braun, who has over 140 subsidiaries in over 50 counties. This particular system is installed at their Penang, Malaysia plant, through our international distributor in Malaysia, AVI Technology Sdn. Bhd.
