This application uses a machine to inspect water cooler bottles after the bottles are washed. Bottles that are defective due to damage, have incorrect labels, or contain foreign material are removed from the line before they are refilled.
As bottles are fed into the inspection station on a conveyor belt, a sensor triggers a strobe light that lights the bottle from the bottom. Two cameras snap images and the images, along with the inspection results, are displayed immediately on an inspection station monitor. If a bottle fails inspection, indicated by a red border on the image and a red tower light, the operator removes the bottle from the line. The inspected bottles are then cleaned, refilled, and returned to customers.
