July 11, 2011 — PPT Vision Announces UV and Remote-Head Cameras and Updated IMPACT™ Software
PPT Vision today announced the addition of two high-performance JAI cameras to its M-Series embedded machine vision system line, including an ultra-violet (UV) camera for inspections that benefit from this shorter wavelength of light, as well as a remote-head “industrial endoscopy” model for special applications. Additionally, the release of the Impact™ 10.2 Software supports the growing M-Series vision system family with streamlined functionality and expanded image management capabilities.
The UV camera (model CM-140GE-UV) marks a “first” in the machine vision industry, with seamless integration with PPT Vision’s M Series vision system and Impact Software. The remote-head camera (model CM-030GE-RH) represents the first mobile imaging capability in an integrated machine vision system.

June 29, 2011 — Marcel Heugen to Support PPT Vision’s European Market Development Strategies
Marcel Heugen, an expert in machine vision and industrial automation engineering, will now serve as a senior consultant for PPT Vision’s European headquarters here. In this role, he will support PPT VISION’s European Operations, headquartered in the Netherlands, under the direction of Ivar Keulers, European sales manager for PPT Vision.
Heugen held leadership roles in machine vision engineering at Simac Masic & TSS bv, SAC GmbH (Sirius Advanced Cybernetics) before launching his own business, SAC Nederland, Vision Competence Center, in 2005. In his new assignment, as founder of Vision Consultancy, he will support an expanding network of PPT Vision certified integrators, distributors and business partners throughout Europe.

June 1, 2011 — PPT Vision Announces Comprehensive Guarantee on All Smart Camera Applications
PPT Vision now extends a full one-year guarantee on its complete line of machine vision camera installations, including hardware, software and accessories, as well as the overall performance in meeting the application requirements.

April 15, 2011 — M500 Series of Line Scan Cameras Allow Embedded Vision System to Better Solve Challenging Machine Vision Applications
PPT Vision introduces the M500 Series of GigE compatible line scan cameras - twelve new cameras ranging from a 1024 pixel, 18.7 Khz model to a 2048 pixel, 29.2 Khz model, each with C or F mount lensing options, and all supporting multiple encoder configurations with direct digital inputs. The M-Series Embedded Vision System is one of the fastest and most robust factory automation camera systems commercially available, and the addition of the M500 Series of line scan cameras allows the system to solve an even broader range of challenging machine vision applications.

First place - PPT Vision System Vision M40 reported by MV Center - Poland
The Product of the Year competition was organized in 2010. It was the release of TMI Poland - publisher of magazines Control Engineering Poland and Engineering and Maintenance of Industrial Companies and portal MSI Poland.
The purpose of the annual competition is to promote facilities and technical solutions applicable in the industry (and particularly in industrial plants), for production, organization and optimization. The competition is open to all products, domestic and foreign, that have appeared on the Polish market in the competition announcement.

March 25, 2011 — Design News Honors M-Series Vision System With 2011 Golden Mousetrap Award
The PPT Vision M-Series Embedded Vision System earned a 2011 Golden Mousetrap Award from Design News Magazine, in recognition as the best new product in the sensors and vision category. "The M Series Vision System uses the same proven Impact® Software that our A,C and T Series Smart Cameras use. And any combination of our GigE compatible M-Series gray scale, color or line scan cameras can be used with our M Series processor," said Bob Heller, President and CEO of PPT Vision.
The M Series allows users to perform up to four unique inspections that can be initiated independently - at different times or simultaneously - using a single vision processor. Setup tools in Impact 8.3 assist you in creating a vision inspection, guide you through many common vision tasks, and significantly reducing operator learning curves. Even with minimal programming experience you can create powerful, accurate inspection solutions.
Impact's new API (application programming interface) works with the Microsoft® ActiveX® platform, allowing IMPACT data to be seamlessly embedded in local machine and/or factory control systems.
Impact Vision Program Manager (VPM), included in the Impact Software, offers more than 120 tools including code reading, pattern find, blob analysis, circle gauge, line find, and sub-pixel gauging. These and many other advanced vision tools allow you to create vision programs which suit a broad range of applications. A pre-configured operator runtime display panel is built within VPM so inspection data and pass/fail results are dynamically displayed while the camera inspects.
Impact Control Panel Manager (CPM) includes more than 60 fully-configurable controls. This means that data, images, and controls can easily be configured for the machine operator, with a customized Graphical User Interface (GUI) that mirrors the machine environment with which they are familiar.

Impact Software release 8.1 introduces several enhancements to existing VPM tools, as well as the addition of Programmable Controller Communications Command (PCCC) communication between Impact and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). This addition enables Allen-Bradley®, Rockwell Automation®, and other compatible controllers to communicate directly with Impact using PCCC protocol encapsulated inside EtherNet/IP commands. The OCR, Character Contour Match, and Data Matrix II tools have improved performance and additional capabilities. Camera calibration using points on the calibration target is easier and more accurate and can be done with fewer points.
